Giving back to the community.

As a permanent resident of Costa Rica and living for years in the Playa Tamarindo area, I feel responsible in giving back to the community that accepted me very well. I therefore participate in as many way as I can events that promote and effectively help the education for the children as the awareness about environmental issues. I do so by helping raising funds for local association such as “Mano a mano”, “amigos de la educacion” and “CEPIA” (a Costa Rican non-profit organization that seeks to promote culture, health, sports and education for children and teenagers from low-income families in Guanacaste.) through donations of Portrait sessions for their silent auction, it is always a success.

I also donate time and photos documenting some of the events that needs some coverage for the press and material for their own promotion. Events are such as “Surfrider foundations” fundraiser and ADIT (Asociacion de Desarollo Integral Tamarindo) where money is collected to keep the beach safe and clean, “The early Chrismas party” at “Los Altos de Eros” where all the children of the nearby pueblo spend a great day of fun at the hotel and receive each one a personal gift.

I also participate by lending money through micro credit website KIVA, the project I help to fund are always in Costa Rica or Nicaragua.

I couldn’t imagine living here without giving back to the wonderful people and fantastic nature…
